Safety first!

Bloodwork

Pre-operative bloodwork is never a bad idea!

We strongly recommend blood work for:

• all pets over 4 years old
• all small breed dogs (under 15 lbs as adults) regardless of age as they can be prone to liver issues.

This is best done paired with a complete exam, but we offer technician appointments through Ace of Spays for blood work only.

Bloodwork needs to be done at least 2 business days before your spay/neuter appointment.

Technician appointments for pre-operative blood work are offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3pm-4pm and on Wednesdays from 2pm-5pm.

We have 4 packages to choose from.

Exams

A basic pre-surgical exam is done for each pet on the day of surgery. We look for conditions that increase anesthetic risk. We recommend a complete exam within 3 months of surgery. This can be done at any veterinary office.

We offer complete exams for our surgical patients on Wednesdays from 2pm-5pm by appointment only. If you need more flexible time options, please reach out to your primary veterinarian.

Please note that Ace of Spays does not see routine appointments for any pets who are not coming through the spay/neuter clinic. Vaccines can be purchased as an extra on surgery days but are not handled during exams. The exam appointments are only for a complete exam and pre-operative bloodwork. The veterinarian doing the exam may not be the veterinarian performing the surgery.
