About the Practice
Our mission is to help pet lovers by optimizing spay/neuter care. AOS shares some space with HQHVSN and other spaces with private practice. We are lower volume and somewhat slower paced than many HQHV clinics. We are higher volume and faster paced than any private practice. We are a small group (6-10 people in the building during a shift). The practice actively pursues and cultivates a friendly work environment.

Job Description

- Read records and pre-op bloodwork where needed (not common)*
- Be available to staff by text or phone for post-operative questions (you do not need to come in)
- +/- See pets with clients for pre-op exams (currently happens very rarely and is done by another vet)
The Typical Clinic
- Our veterinarian arrives at 9:30 am
- Each pet is examined by the veterinarian and pre-meds are administered by staff after the exam
- Surgery is generally from 10 am – 2 pm
- The veterinarian does exams after surgery and stays until all pets are awake.
Hours/Pay
- Shift is from 9:30 am – 3 pm or until all pets are fully awake, whichever is later. We use short-acting anesthetics and cats are reversed. Pick-up starts at 4 pm.
- $800/shift
- Starting with 1 shift/week with the potential for more shifts
Possible Add-Ons for Interested Candidates
- Surgeries other than this listed above. We can offer more advanced surgeries on non-clinic days if a candidate is interested in more than Spay/Neuter.
- Complete physical exams on a day prior to the surgery date (these are rare as most clients are uninterested).
*Bloodwork and Records*
When clients indicate a health concern and/or elect pre-op bloodwork, we get records ASAP and forward these to our spay/neuter veterinarian. Our veterinarian is the deciding factor in whether we do surgery. We do our best to have these issues resolved prior to surgery day. When they are not, clients are warned that surgery is at the doctor’s discretion.
